We Day

Hello!
I know I haven't posted in a while but I was really busy. Some of you guys might know about We Day. I went last year and now it is coming up again! We Day is an event for people like Mark and Creig Kielburger who want to see a difference in the world. People like me who want to change the world and make it a better place. So if you have a spark (something you want to change in the world) We Day is the place for ideas and inspiration to start your journey of change.
We Day takes place all across Canada and in some places in the U.S.A and the U.K. We Day season is usually Oct-April and it launches a year of change.
If you want to go you can't buy a ticket, you earn it through service and community service. You can also volunteer and help organize the fun day.
When I went last year it was a day of pure awesomeness. If you read my first post you may know that Hannah Alper inspired me to write this blog. She was actually a speaker at We Day last year. There are guest speakers and performers who talk about how you can help the world. Performers like Demi Lovato and Nelly Furtado. Speakers like Creig and Mark themselves. The speakers also talk about their own journey of change. But we weren't sitting the entire time since we had breaks and did the We Day dance. Learn the dance in the video below.
If you want to know more about We Day you can watch the video at the very bottom of this post. After you watch the video go to www.weday.com and www.freethechildren.com.

5 Reasons Why You Should Walk Instead of Drive

Even though it is winter, I decided to write this article because I wanted all the readers to think about walking instead of driving on the warmer days.

1. Vehicle Emissions:
We don't realize but all the grey stuff coming out from the back of our cars does harm the environment. It effects the air we breathe in plus the Earth's ozone layer. Do we really want that?
2. It's Good for Your Health;
Walking strengthens your heart, it lowers the risk of getting sick and it keeps you slim!
3. Saves Money:
When you walk you don't have to buy petrol every week.
4. No Parking Problems:
Forget searching the parking lot for a place to park your car!
5. You Can't Get Stuck Because of Lazy Drivers:
When you walk you don't have to slow down because of a slow and lazy driver. You can go anywhere at your own pace.

Everyone always has an excuse why not to walk. I hope these ideas make you think about the good side of walking!

Eco Friendly Homemade Cleaners

Over the weekend I participated in a science fair. The topic I chose to present was eco-friendly cleaners.
The project turned out to be a success and I got 1st place!
Here is how to make your own homemade cleaners:

All Purpose Cleaner:
Mix 1/2 water and 1/2 water in a spray bottle.
(works as great as normal store bought cleaners)
Glass Cleaner:
Mix cornstarch, water and vinegar in a spray bottle. You can add as much of the ingredients as desired.
Wonderful Baking Soda:
Sprinkle baking soda on places like the oven, dishwasher (between washes) or microwave overnight to remove dirt.

Store bought cleaners are harmful to the environment and to our body. The chemicals in a store bought cleaner are poisonous and flammable. But the homemade ingredients are not poisonous or flammable. There are lots of ways to make a homemade cleaner. These were only some of them. Tell me how your homemade cleaners work in the comments below!

Trapped

If you don't put things in the right place this is what happens. Even if the turtle does come out, it will still remain in an 8 shape. I wonder how many turtles like that have been trapped? Tell me what you think about this turtle in the comments section.

Saving Earth

Earth is a very precious planet. There is no other known planet with life on it. People around the world don't care. On this blog I will post articles about preventing global warming and pollution. The ozone layer is breaking down because we don't care about recycling or even throwing the trash away. I went to we day (We Day) and I was inspired by Hannah Alper (Call Me Hannah). Hannah Alper created her own blog on her own issues she wants to prevent. My "spark" is pollution. Trashing the Earth is not good. Read my future posts for ways to prevent pollution. Tell me suggestions in the comments/replies.
